Working with Wykeham

You want work where your experience counts. So do we.

Working at Wykeham

The work

Do consequential work on the chokepoints holding back the AI buildout, where mid-market clients face the same constraints as the largest players without equivalent in-house capability. Help them decide. Wykeham's work tests what gets acquired, where businesses grow, and whether a competitive position holds, for investors, owners, and management teams.

The team

Work in alliance with experienced strategists and domain or technical specialists. Each is chosen for having solved this kind of problem before, and the team shares accountability for the result. Expect rigorous, collaborative, low-ego work.

Who we look for

Relevant precedent matters more than generic pedigree because clients need people who have solved the problem before. We select carefully because the answer is only as strong as the people forming it. Our standard for Partners is 7+ years in the field, 3+ directly relevant engagements and experience advising businesses with $100M–$1B in revenue. Every conclusion rests on evidence and tested assumptions that clients can audit.

What we ask of you

Put the client outcome first, own substantial areas end to end, exercise judgment, and change position when the evidence or tested assumptions call for it.

What you get

Room to decide how the answer gets reached, support when stakes rise, recognition for impact, greater responsibility as results prove it, and scope to shape the firm.

If you want consequential work, real responsibility, and evidence-led challenge, explore our Partner, operations leadership and Domain Specialist opportunities.

Locations

Where we work

Our work spans North America, the UK and Europe. Roles are based in the US and UK, with offices in New York and London.

Our culture

Good culture is built, not inherited.

We are serious about the answer, open in debating assumptions and low on ego. Clients get better judgment for it.

  • Autonomy

We set the outcome and the standard. The person leading the work decides the route, and owns the result. Challenge and support come with it.

  • Openness

Insight counts for more than hierarchy here. We expect conclusions to be tested rigorously and respectfully, whoever raises the question.

  • Recognition

Your contribution and impact get noticed, and they change what comes next. Results earn recognition, rewards and greater responsibility.

  • Growth

As you prove what you can deliver, your rewards, title and responsibility grow with the firm: deeper expertise, engagement and practice leadership as we expand.

Working principles

Our working principles

These are the standards we work to, with clients and with each other.

These principles guide how we work with clients, colleagues and partners. They apply to everyone at the firm, whatever their role, and they do not change with the size of the engagement.

Earn client trust

We put our clients’ interests ahead of our own. We listen carefully, we do the work rigorously, and we tell clients what the evidence and tested assumptions show, not what they want to hear. We keep what they tell us confidential. We are honest about what we know, what we do not know and what still needs checking.

Deliver excellence at speed

We work at pace, and our systems and methods make that possible. They let us focus early on what matters and test the key assumptions first. The work moves fast and the standard is high, and speed comes from how we work, not from cutting corners.

Act with integrity

We are intellectually honest in our work and with each other. We do not overstate what the evidence supports or hide findings that are inconvenient. Sound logic can still rest on a wrong assumption, so, as allies, we check each other’s assumptions as a matter of course. If we get something wrong, we say so and put it right together.

Take ownership

We take responsibility for our own work and see it through. That means raising problems early, keeping our commitments and not leaving things for someone else to pick up. We give people real responsibility and the support to carry it, and we judge each other on results, not on effort.

Treat people well

We treat people with respect and emotional intelligence, whatever their role. There is no place here for office politics, point-scoring or criticism aimed at the person instead of the work. Leaders make sure people have what they need to do their jobs, and difficult conversations happen in private. We expect a lot of each other, and we are decent about it.
